OPERO is already committed to the "Right to Repair""
Prepared for the future! Since 2024, an EU directive has been in effect that aims to strengthen the "right to repair" and ensure greater sustainability throughout the product lifecycle. It must be transposed into national law by July 2026 – the exact timeline is still open, but the direction is clear: repairable products will become the standard, not the exception.
Manufacturers will then be obligated to repair products even after the statutory warranty has expired – provided the product is considered technically repairable under EU law. Currently, this only applies to certain product categories, but these can be expanded gradually. For operators and planners of lighting systems, this means that investments in durable, maintenance-friendly solutions pay off twice over.
This is precisely where our OPERO LED surface-mounted luminaire comes in. Thanks to its modular design and removable mounting bracket, it is not only particularly sustainable, but also optimally prepared for future legal requirements.
Here you can find further information on the "Right to Repair" from the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Köln).
